True Salvage
High quality Giclee print on gorgeous Somerset Velvet fine art paper for premium quality and lightfastness. Framed or unframed options available.
There’s a healthy debate in the SOMa community about who’s got the best breakfast sandwiches, and I’m not here to make that judgement, but @truesalvagecafe is at the top of most of those lists. Feel free to confirm or deny this in the comments.
It took me three days to successfully doodle True Salvage to my satisfaction. First I met @debengel77 there on Wednesday and was a bit overwhelmed by the massive amount of ephemera absolutely *everywhere* and could hardly figure out how to capture it all. This place has enough detail to deserve a full spread. On top of that, drawing & chit chatting just don’t mix for me. I did what I could, but came back on Thursday & started over with a lot more focus.
Even then, I couldn’t finish it all. Today, I suffered through a caffeine-free morning until they unlocked the door to my symptoms of withdrawal at 8am when I immediately set myself to work finishing up the details. @ekilgore met me there after about 45 minutes, just when I was finishing up. He & Deb are now witnesses to my process. Not the watercolor part though. That happens afterwards.Notes on True Salvage: It’s awesome. The owners are wonderful, and are living out something of a dream of running this spot. Give them all of your money! Absolutely try their Ricotta Pound Cake if you get any baked goods. Their sandwiches - and they bread they’re made with - are also excellent. Had my lunch twice there this week.
