Ken is a watercolor documentarian based in Maplewood, NJ.

Dating back to December 2022, I have doodled detailed diaries of diners, dives, shops, cafes, and other places. Swollen sketchbooks swiftly spilled off shelves, displacing space and ballooning backpacks. A sketchbook goes everywhere I go.

After leaving a 20 year career in graphic design in 2023, I became a full time artist. Watercolor became my medium after finding that a light touch translates terrifically in capturing portraits of people, pets, homes, animals, and small businesses.

If I’m not painting, I’m organizing something. I am co-chair of the Studio Tour SOMA, am one of the coordinators of SOMA Figure drawing and The Affordable Arts Market, and lead the Bike Bus for my daughter’s elementary school

Say Hello!
I reply alarmingly quickly most of the time.
