Ken is an artist based in Maplewood, NJ.

He’s been drawing since he was your age [points to little kid], and has been a full time artist since 2023

He is deeply serious about his entrepreneurial endeavors, but can’t help being a deeply unserious person. Hence, this ridiculously alliterative bio:

Dating back to December 2022, Ken has doodled detailed diaries of diners, dives, shops, cafes, and places. Swollen sketchbooks swiftly spilled off shelves, displacing space and ballooning backpacks. A sketchbook goes everywhere he goes. Ken has been a full time artist for a short time, but has been drawing all his life. Watercolor became his medium after finding that his light touch translates terrifically in capturing portraits of the personas of people, pets, homes, animals, and small businesses.

Ken is a connector. That’s what Malcolm Gladwell would say if he was forced to. Malcolm Gladwell and Ken will probably never meet but honestly, you never know!

Ken co-runs the Soma Figure Drawing group which meets once or twice a month for casual life drawing. Check them out on Facebook or Instagram and come to the next session.

He rides bikes a lot too. Ever heard of Cranksgiving? He ran that thing for ten years in Manhattan and a couple non-consecutive years in Maplewood. He’s an events guy. He likes bringing people together. It’s a strange mix of extroversion and introversion.

I reply alarmingly quickly most of the time.
