Last week at @thebreadstand, sitting outside in the morning, I was struck by how beautiful it looked with the sun beating through the colorful umbrellas in the morning. Lucky for me, I had run out of coffee, and had to trot on over to my favorite local cafe for my morning caffeine. I immediately sent a photo to @artbyraysh because it reminded me of one of the pieces she’s got hanging besides mine at @papermillplayhouse right now (HINT WINK NUDGE). It’s a scene of umbrellas covering a whole street corner. It’s really beautiful and you should check it out.
Shout out to Ruben Sanchez (@zoonchez) who’s mural on the wall I…kinda struggled with how much to recreate. It’s something you should all see in person. It’s beautiful, and makes hanging out in a parking lot on some blacktop feel a lot less like hanging out in a parking lot on some blacktop. It’s like we live in a hip town full of great art, great artists, and artisanal bread stands and whatnot. Come move to Maplewood! No downsides! The taxes? Oh hey look at the cool waterslide at our pool! Membership costs how much? LET’S TALK ABOUT SOMETHING ELSE.
