Big Finch - Original Framed artwork

$250.00
Sold Out
A tiny finch, quickly inked and joyfully colored after. This ubiquitous bird (for the northeast at least) is fond of the cookie crumbs you leave behind at the cafe, and tweeting throughout the day.

I have a couple different processes for my paintings, but some of the best, most dynamic renderings happen when I chaotically draw the subject in pen first. People tell me they get nervous that they'd make mistakes if they drew with pen. I usually tell them that everything is a mistake. I make hundreds of them. Then I figure out how to fix them. The overlapping unpredictable lines will *always* create something in the end, and it will usually be something a bit more dynamic and unexpected than originally planned.

This original artwork is framed with a white mat, but easily removable if you'd like to frame it with something of your own.
