I soft launched a s9 version of a paint & sip for Melanie Curtis’s birthday last weekend [3], where we got all sorts of charcuterie, had some presents, kids were there, we made buffalo wings, and just hung out with friends. All this stuff is your standard birthday party fare. What was DIFFERENT is that I set up a table for everyone to paint portraits of our cat, Matil. It was a great surprise birthday addition!

Unintentionally, I liked the idea of elevating your standard paint & sip into a far more social occasion, where you STILL end up with a piece of art at the end of the night, but you also have dinner.

Will this all come to pass? We’ll see! I haven’t even told the Señor Sangria people about it yet, but i know they read this newsletter so…surprise! Lum’s Cellars has had that seed planted though. And I’ll probably nudge Maplewood Wheelhouse too, and see what happens. It definitely seems like it’s their uh… oh gosh what’s the right term… their uh… cup of tea.
