Three Birds Cafe - Easton, PA

Last Saturday, I stopped into @threebirdscoffee in Easton, PA and holy crap people - this is the most charming coffee shop I’ve ever been into in my entire life. I’m sure I could find out the actual history, but my story is that some eccentric millionaire lived out his final days there taking care of his birds in the late 1880’s, and up until 10 or 15 years ago, the victorian mansion stood vacant except for the presence of an equally eccentric caretaker who’s charter was to take care of what had become an overwhelming amount of birds. Finally, this caretaker was able to find a loophole in the last wishes of the eccentric millionaire and the laws of #eastonpa, and turn the ground floor of this exquisite home into a coffeeshop for students, artists, work-from-homers, poets, bird lovers, coffee enthusiasts, and who KNOWS what goes on in all of the rooms that are there!

This is all 100% made up, except for the exquisite part. Go to Easton. Go check out the @crayola experience (@visitcrayola). And then just go look at the floors at Three Birds. Just the floors alone are mind-bogglingly beautiful. Say hi to the birds too. There are birds there. I didn’t make that part up. They’re through the window on the right side of this painting. It was too much for me to draw.

I grew up in Easton, and every time I go back, there are new places that I haven’t discovered yet. They built the Crayola Experience when I was in High School as a way to revitalize the downtown, and it worked. It worked really well. Also @herod is responsible for a lot of it. Vote for him for king of the Pomfret Club if you can. @adamatkinson has to get some credit here too, because he attempted to show me this place after a bike ride last fall, but it was closed. So very glad I stopped in last weekend.
