If you stalk very far back in one of their instagrams, you’ll see this photo reference from Georgia’s gotcha day. Georgia’s an old girl now, and we’re all in such very different parts of our lives.

A long time ago in a different part of *my* life, Georgia and her humans were my neighbors. Jamey and I would meet in the strip of grass between our houses, peering over the fences, grunting about power tools, only seeing each other’s faces from the noses up. What mysterious man stuff were we even grunting about? Saw blades, most likely.

Not as long ago yet still in a different part of my life, Jamey used a whole bunch of saw blades and sanding & leveling tools to create a gorgeous cutting board for me. He doesn’t maintain @goodandboardhandcrafted too much but he should! His cutting board is one of the most favorite things I own. Mostly because it was crafted by a good friend of mine. Making a portrait of Georgia for the Wishner family has been on my list for a long time - and last night was the night to do it. This’ll be a surprise for them when I drop it off today!
